First let me thank you for your interest in Zap Electrolysis and Skin Care. I
founded Zap Electrolysis is 2003 but my education started somewhere around 1993.
My introduction to electrolysis was as a client first. As many of you know, it
can be addicting, and I've had electrolysis done on almost every body part. So
when I'm working on you, I know how it feels. And I know how wonderful it is to
finally be rid of unwanted hair.
Skin Care seemed the next logical step as I was repeatedly asked for advice on
various skin issues as well as which products were recommended. Having had my own
long-term struggle with extremely sensitive and often blemished skin, I'm hoping
to use everything I've learned from my past experiences with doctors and products
as well as my current and future educational endeavors to offer you the best skin
care treatments and advice. It is said there are those who do and those who teach.
I do and then I teach to you.
On a personal level, I am an animal advocate and am very passionate about animal
rescue. I hope you will find time to checkout a few of the great organizations on
the links page. There are so many unwanted animals. Please adopt from a local
shelter or rescue and avoid the "puppy mills." And of course, Spay and Neuter!
See you soon!

My journey with electrolysis began when I was a junior in high school
when my excessive facial and body hair could not be curbed by the
temporary hair removal methods I was using i.e. shaving, waxing,
depilatory creams, and bleaching. My mother was sensitive to my grief
and suggested I try electrolysis because she had such success with it.
After my first appointment, I could hold my head high again.
Electrolysis enhanced my physical appearance and boosted my self esteem.
After high school, I received my A.A. in Liberal Arts, a B.A. in
Anthropology, a Minor in Dance, and a M.A. in English with an emphasis
in teaching English as a Second Language. Though I found value and joy
in all of these areas of education, I decided to join the Electrology
field in 2006 to give back what was given to me at such a young age,
FREEDOM on all levels.
For many people, electrolysis is a freeing process. Not only are you
becoming hair free, but you are also gaining more confidence and
reaching higher ground. It's very gratifying to be part of your
journey. In addition, I am knowledgeable and have personal experience
with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and belong to a monthly support
group at Cedar-Sinai Medical Group.
In my free time you can find me sweating in dance class, making jewelry,
out in nature, and in massage school. I look forward to meeting you
and freeing you of your unwanted hair.
Thank you for your interest in Zap Electrolysis. We will take care of
you.
Best regards,

Mary Mojdeh Elyasnik
Early on, I started electrolysis treatments as I struggled with
unwanted hair on various parts of my body. Later, I tried laser
treatments on some new areas, which made some areas have more hair
re-growth than what I had originally started with. I grew more
frustrated and started using various temporary methods to remove
the unwanted hairs. I was skeptical about restarting electrolysis
because I had received several treatments years before and the
treatments were intolerable and ineffective. However, when I became
a new client at Zap I realized the technology, comfort and results
are truly incomparable.
I decided to get both my Esthetician (Skin Care) and Electrologist
licenses because I know that I can help people the same way estheticians
and electrologists have helped me achieve the results I want with hair
removal and improving my skin's appearance.

I am a mother of four children. While living in Arizona I served as
PTA president & ran our volunteer school lunch program. I graduated
from Northern Arizona University with a BS in Sociology & was presented
the Senior Scholar Award. I worked as counselor for court ordered
domestic violence abusers and victims. I established the first Transition
House in Lake Havasu City, Az for women and children of domestic violence.
I also served as chairperson of the Northern Arizona Task Force Against
Domestic Violence.
Returning to my home state of California I was exploring ways to support
myself. I found one consistent thread or should I say hair in my life. Yes,
folks I was stroking my chin hairs thinking absently about making another
electrology appointment when it dawned on me. I've spent huge parts of my
life tweezing. I started removing my own hair removal at the age of 12 when
I sprouted neck hairs. Now I get paid to help others rid themselves of their
unwanted hair. The irony makes me smile! I do understand!
If I'm not at work you can find me collecting rocks, taking classes, hanging
with my girlfriends or watching the clouds...smiling.
